Day 1: Arrival in Fes
Welcome to Fes! On the first day of our 6-day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga, we’ll meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the chance to explore the city and get your first glimpse of its charm.
After lunch, we drive through Errachidia and the breathtaking Ziz Valley, filled with lush palm trees. We then arrive in Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. From here, you'll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. While on the camel trek, enjoy the stunning sunset over the dunes.
At the desert camp, you'll experience Berber music, sit around a cozy fire, and enjoy a sky full of stars. Sleep in a comfortable tent for a magical desert experience.
Day 2: Explore the Heart of Fes
Spend a full day discovering the rich history and culture of Fes, the intellectual center of Morocco. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Medersas (Islamic schools) of Chahrij, Bou Inania, and Attarine. Explore the vibrant souks, wander through Fes El-Jedid, and marvel at the Karaouine Mosque, recognized as one of the world’s oldest universities. This day is all about immersing yourself in the city’s fascinating past and lively present.
Day 3: Journey to Merzouga – Through Ifrane, Cedar Forest, and Ziz Valley
After breakfast, we’ll leave Fes and travel toward the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we’ll stop in Ifrane, often called "Morocco’s Switzerland," known for its clean streets and alpine-style buildings. We’ll also visit the Cedar Forest, home to friendly Barbary monkeys. Continuing our drive, we’ll pass through the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm trees and lush landscapes.
By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels to a desert camp. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a traditional Berber tent under a sky full of stars.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert Adventures
Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes—an unforgettable sight! After breakfast, ride camels back to your hotel, then switch to a 4x4 for a day of exploration. Visit Dayet Srji, a seasonal lake where you may see flamingos. Experience the vibrant music of the Gnawa people, descendants of West African slaves, and learn about their unique culture.
We’ll drive deeper into the desert to explore areas where nomadic families live and follow parts of the famous Paris-Dakar route. By evening, return to your hotel in Merzouga for another peaceful night.
Day 5: Merzouga to Fes – Scenic Drive through the Middle Atlas
After breakfast, we’ll start our return journey to Fes. Our first stop is Rissani, a historic market town and former trading hub. We’ll continue through the Ziz Valley, enjoying breathtaking views of palm groves and dramatic gorges. As we reach the Middle Atlas, we’ll visit Azrou to see the Cedar Forest and its playful monkeys.
Our next stop is Ifrane, where the cool air and mountain scenery offer a refreshing break. We’ll arrive in Fes by the afternoon, where you’ll have time to relax and reflect on your desert adventure.
Day 6: Departure from Fes
