10 Days tour from Fes to Marrakech

Upon arrival at Fez Sais Airport, our guide will meet you at the scheduled time and transfer you to your riad, which is conveniently located in the heart of the medina, the historic center of Fez. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore part of the city.

After enjoying a rich breakfast at the riad, we will begin a guided tour of Fez. First, we will visit the modern part of the city, where we will see the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Next, we’ll head to a viewpoint at the Torre del Sur, offering a panoramic view of the entire medina, including some of its mosques. From here, we’ll venture into the medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its maze-like alleys are filled with workshops for potters, dyers, and other craftsmen. Walking through this lively medieval city, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. A highlight of the day will be seeing the famous "Magana Bounania," a centuries-old water clock. It’s truly a wonder of Fez.

We will journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, often called "Little Moroccan Switzerland" because of its European-like charm. Here, we’ll see a statue of the Atlas Lion, a symbol of the city, and take a break for photos. Continuing through the cedar forests, we will visit the Great Cedar Gouraud, the largest ancient cedar tree in the area, and meet the playful monkeys that live there. After lunch in Midelt, the scenery changes to arid landscapes with dramatic geological formations and lush green valleys, like the Ziz Valley. You’ll begin to see adobe-style buildings and palm trees as we approach the desert. Arriving in Merzouga, we’ll have tea and settle into our hotel near the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. In the evening, we’ll climb the nearby dunes to watch a stunning sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Today, we’ll fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the desert. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, which include Morocco’s highest sand dune, standing over 250 meters tall. We’ll follow part of the famous Paris-Dakar route and visit the Tissardmin oasis, known for its fossil deposits. Next, we’ll meet a nomadic family and learn about their unique lifestyle and traditions. At Khamlia village, you’ll enjoy tea and a captivating Gnawa music performance. Later, we’ll embark on a camel caravan to witness a magical sunset in the dunes. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in a traditional nomadic tent beneath a blanket of stars.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of the dunes near the camp. After returning to Merzouga by camel, we’ll have breakfast before leaving the desert. Our first stop is the Rissani market, where you can explore its lively atmosphere (market days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). Continuing, we’ll pass through Erfoud, known for its fossilized marble workshops, and the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. One of the highlights of the day is the Todra Gorges, where the river has carved stunning vertical cliffs. You’ll have time for lunch and a short walk in this incredible area. By the afternoon, we’ll reach the Dades Valley, famous for its rock formations and kasbahs. Dinner and overnight stay in the Dades Gorges.

After breakfast, we’ll admire the panoramic views of the Dades Valley, dotted with kasbahs. We’ll then head toward Aït Youl Kasbah and follow an off-road track to the Boutagrar Valley, where we’ll visit a nomadic family living in caves. You’ll experience breathtaking mountain and valley landscapes here. Afterward, we’ll continue to the Valley of Roses, known for its fragrant rose products, and have lunch in Kelaat M’Gouna. In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the Skoura palm grove and arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight stay.

The morning will be dedicated to visiting Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios where many famous movies were shot. Then, we’ll head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village and filming location for movies like Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile. After lunch, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for photos along the way. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Marrakech, where you’ll have free time to explore the lively Jamaa el Fna Square.

Enjoy a free day to explore Marrakech at your own pace. You can wander through the bustling souks, practice your bargaining skills, or discover hidden corners of the medina.

We’ll depart for Fez, passing through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make rest stops and have lunch in a local village. During summer, you may have the chance to visit the Ouzoud Waterfalls if time allows. We’ll arrive in Fez in the evening, where you’ll stay overnight in a riad or hotel.

After breakfast, you’ll have free time to explore until it’s time to transfer to the airport. We’ll assist you with check-in and ensure you reach your gate on time. It’s recommended to arrive at the airport two hours before departure. This marks the end of your 10-day journey from Fez to Marrakech.
