On the first day, the tour takes you on a scenic route to the town of Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its clean streets and charming architecture. From there, we continue through beautiful villages and breathtaking views until we reach the Merzouga Desert.
In Merzouga, you'll ride camels into the heart of the desert to spend the night in a luxury camp. Each tent is private and comes with comfortable beds, warm sheets for the cooler nights, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. As the sun sets, enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by music and stories around the campfire under a clear, star-filled sky. This peaceful evening creates memories you'll cherish forever.
On the second day, you’ll explore the surrounding region, including the town of Erfoud, which is famous for its beautiful fossils. From here, the journey continues through scenic routes to the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night. Day 1: Fes – Middle Atlas Mountains – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Begin your adventure from Fes to the Sahara Desert. This journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its clean streets and European-style architecture. The name "Ifrane" comes from the Berber word for caves. The city is surrounded by natural beauty and is a perfect spot for outdoor activities.
Next, head to the Cedar Forest, home to playful Barbary monkeys. You’ll have time to see these animals in their natural habitat before continuing to Midelt, a city famous for its apple orchards, cool weather, and nearby mineral mining. Here, you’ll enjoy a lunch break.
In the afternoon, drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and small villages. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to take in the beauty of the valley before reaching the golden dunes of Merzouga.
Upon arrival, meet your camel guide, who will take you on a camel ride through the dunes to watch the breathtaking sunset. Afterward, continue to your desert camp for dinner under the stars and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir – Boumalne Dades
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, ride back on camels to meet your driver for the next leg of the journey.
The first stop is Erfoud, a town known for its fossil and marble production. You can visit workshops to see how these ancient stones are crafted. From Erfoud, travel through small villages until you reach Tinghir, a charming town with lush palm groves and famous for the stunning Todra Gorge.
Explore the Todra Gorge, where towering rock walls create a natural wonder perfect for photos and short walks. Continue to Boumalne Dades, a town known for its dramatic landscapes and the Dades Gorge, often called the "Monkey Fingers" due to its unique rock formations. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, depart from Boumalne Dades and travel through the Rose Valley, famous for its annual rose festival held in April. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Desert" and a hub for filmmaking. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where movies like Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed.
Enjoy lunch in Ouarzazate before driving through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, with stops for photos and breathtaking views. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad.
