Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech Menara Airport
Upon your arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your riad or hotel. If you arrive early in the day, you can explore Marrakech's vibrant streets, colorful markets, and historical sites. If your flight lands later, the city tour will be scheduled for your return to Marrakech at the end of the tour. Dinner will be enjoyed at a local restaurant, and you’ll stay overnight in a comfortable riad or hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Tizi N’Tichka Pass – Ait Ben Haddou – Roses Valley – Dades Valley
Your adventure begins early with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, one of the highest points in the region, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains.
The first stop is at the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient fortified village has been the backdrop for movies like Gladiator and The Mummy. After exploring, the journey continues through the lush Roses Valley and Dades Valley. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a cozy hotel in Dades.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, the journey takes you to the Todgha Gorges, a spectacular canyon with walls reaching up to 300 meters high. It’s a perfect spot for a short walk and stunning photos.
Next, travel through the palm-lined roads of Tinjdad, Touroug, and Erfoud, known for its fossils and gateway to the desert. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, where you can relax at your hotel or riad.
Day 4: Exploring the Merzouga Desert
Start your day with a hearty Moroccan breakfast, then head out on a 4x4 to explore the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Visit local Berber families, discover hidden oases, and learn about life in the desert. A highlight of the day is a stop in Khamlia village, where you can enjoy traditional Gnawa music and mint tea.
In the evening, ride camels through the golden dunes as the sun sets. This magical journey ends at a desert camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner under a starlit sky, drum music, and a peaceful night in a nomadic tent.
Day 5: Merzouga – Dakar Track – Ouzina – Ramlia – Tafraoute Sidi Ali
After breakfast, set off along the old Dakar Rally route through the vast desert. Stop for breathtaking panoramic views of the dunes and desert trees. Continue to the remote Berber village of Ouzina, near the Algerian border.
Travel through the quiet village of Ramlia, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. The day ends at Tafraoute Sidi Ali, known for its rich mining history. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight in a traditional Berber guesthouse.
Day 6: Tafraoute Sidi Ali – Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Begin your day with breakfast and a journey through Oumjrane towards Zagora. After lunch in Zagora, travel to Agdz and the oasis of Tamnougalt, known for its historic kasbah and date palms.
The day concludes in Ouarzazate, where you’ll stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Telouet Kasbah – Tizi N’Tichka – Marrakech
On the final day, visit the famous Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate, where many iconic movies were filmed. Continue to the Telouet Kasbah, a historical site along the old caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara.
